Slovenia lies in the heart of Europe, where the Alps meet the Mediterranean. This small green country measures 20,273 km2 in area and borders Italy on the west, Croatia on the south and east, Hungary on the northeast, and Austria on the north, and also has a small portion of coastline along the Adriatic Sea. With two million inhabitants is home to sincere, hospitable people of great diligence. Slovenes are very thorough in learning foreign languages to make themselves understood. The majority of people can speak good English, while most have a good grasp of German and there are many fluent Italian speakers in the areas bordering Italy too, thus you will not find any difficulties in communicating at all.
